What prompted the study?

Having been an adult ESL survivor and lifelong coach, it seemed a logical decision to spend my second career in service to stragglers in the school system. In preparation, while getting my Masters in TESOL, I couldn’t help but notice that several European countries (with language problems much greater than ours) had researched and successfully implemented new cloze procedures in their everyday teaching activities (under the name of C-test) . . . activities that, I believe, are definitely worth adopting. I have used them. They work.

The C-test’s only less-than-superior aspects were ease of construction and administration. I enhanced these shortcomings through ClozeOnline™, which should serve the study successfully and, in the long run, provide for me the opportunity to make a meaningful difference throughout the ESL/EFL industry. In fact, my plans include the construction and operation of an ongoing vacation-style research facility right here in Central Florida . . . to train teachers not fortunate enough to be field-trained by a licensed coach.

What is the charge for a private online directory?

There is no charge for as long as you allow me to monitor your test responses and collect data for my study.

What other choices do I have?

When your school is ready to put the software on its own server, I'll help them install it for a small stipend. The present charge is $995.- for both installation and on-site training. Schools outside of Orlando need to add reasonable traveling expenses.
